Dear Mr. Anonymous

Dear Mr.Anonymous — I beg your pardon -
For I must have to this an answer -
If I so place my credence to said illusion -
Need I pray I fall not to disaster?

If to see through a time ahead -
Believe - trust - with my being - with all at hand -
Neglecting every mark of dread -
Will it be as rewarding - will it be as grand?

To saunter into a jungle - ever so blindly -
Senses heightened not even in the slightest -
Riding the path not of history - but of mystery -
Will I then see solace to its fullest?

If I go - by the measure in lieu of the pictured -
Will It Hurt?

About this poem

This is more of a letter to an unknown “thing”, not necessarily a person. Just something or someone that understands the risks taken in all aspects of life. The writer subtly asks if taking all risks in life such as getting out of one’s comfort zone is worth the pain.
