A Napkin at a Bar

Neil Dave 1993

Sitting here
Still, damp
A circular weight across my chest
Only flitting at the passing winds of commotion
Ready to be pulled out from under it all
Poised, waiting
To be pressed against your lips

About this poem

Inspired by a napkin underneath my whiskey, neat, and the dire need for a date at a bar called Saloon
