Tall preacher dressed in black

There is no death, there is only sleep.

Shouted the preacher, he was a tall man

with a white beard that hung below his waist

He was dressed in black and standing.

On the buckboard of his wagon

in the dark of night, what little light

There was came from a kerosene lamp.

Hanging on the branch of an olive tree

a sign of peace above the preachers head

that lite up his face and white collar

As he stood there preaching the word.

All the towns people gathered around.

Lending an ear and singing praises to the Lord
