Go back to a simpler time

Go back to a simpler time, can I
When there was more rhythm and rhyme
Go back when there were less worries
Less stressful scurries

Go back when life was easier it seemed
Compared to now
I’m all over the place, not knowing where to turn
One area is doing well, and the other problems begin to swell
Peace and serenity are what I yearn

But it’s only wishful thinking I know
You take what is given and deal
No choice in liking it, No choice in God’s plan
Pray and lean on other good friends who get you
All you can do
And I am grateful when the others seem so hateful

It will all work out the way it is meant
Not all gifts are heaven sent
Focus on the good and try to free your mind
As hard as it is I know
Dark circles under my eyes do show

Last night I escaped into the night
I wanted to forget and get lost into something else
I was around others, and it felt good, a welcome sight
I talked it out, maybe too much
Wanting more but settling for a touch
It’s part of who I am and it’s ok
As I muddle this life trying to find my way
