I brought you roses in the morning.
They reflected in your eyes like the dawn
 sun christening a new shoot
You looked like you had won a prize to boot
I loved that look within your eyes
You smelt them like a foal seeking danger before it dies
But you were safe within my hearth
And I warmed your cheek with a kiss
As it warmed on my shoulder I missed you
Then we danced.
