"My Ruby Red Rose"

“My Ruby Red Rose”

A beautiful rose is so very rare,
Waiting for a moment’s stare,
Swaying softly, gently, in the warm summer air.

I often wonder if anyone cares...

The beauty, the fragrance so grand; craving to be ravished
By someone who understands.

Moments of splendor brief the hands;
Maybe, somehow, life’s given in demand...

Red ruby, graces the senses;
Yellow gold, a promise of commitment;
Blue star, races to the galaxies; and
Black velvet, a night’s last chance.

Which one, might I have perchance?

A rose so delicate, so precious to look upon; in all
It’s grandeur and bloom;
Soon holds the attention of lovers’ bequest;
 Piercing the heart with cupid’s thorns;
Nestling softly in love’s charm...

My touch must be light; my love must be strong,

Keeping forever my rose enthroned.

What name shall I give thee, my ruby red;

What vows must I leave with a golden thread?

What skies shall I search for the black velvet touch;

What star will I find my blue rose so bold?

All of these are priceless untold!

My love I give to my “Ruby Red Rose!”
You are my “Ruby Red Rose!’

Artist’s Profile Poetry is a way to express life as the writer tells a story. Often personal experiences or special people inspire the writings of the author. In my own experiences, I found my perception of life and people through the expression of my poetry. I like to use objects and interesting subjects to portray the message in symbolism. At the age of 13, I became interested in writing poetry due to my shyness and difficulty in public speech. I found an easier way of expression through my writings. This became my fantasy and dream. I quit writing as a youth but always keep the secrecy of my poetic dream hidden somewhere in the back of my mind. After computer technology, the wonderful word processor made it possible to once again begin my obsession to write. Not being the accomplished grammar student, I realized my work needed polishing. However, I began to ponder the perfect speller and decided that it is not the grammar that is so terribly important but the message portrayed! If I could write a story and the meaning came across to the reader, Wallah, I have accomplished my goal. Being the romanticist I enjoy writing about love and relationships, adventuresome quests, and life’s true stories. I challenge religious views through revelations to my own insight of perception and experiences including all religious beliefs. I am a simple person with a complexity of thoughts hiding somewhere in my subconscious mind. In conclusion, my goal in writing is to make a statement to inspire the minds of the reader with ideas and thoughts of reality and fantasy. Thus, leaving another way to enjoy poetry!
