the enamored look
you gave me
when we first met
like the carved ivory flower
that holds close against my chest
when you told me
you loved
everything about me
your eyes gleamed
like a dull milkyway
one that sparked
something within
alike phantom chains
around my wrists;
my heart
those delicate words
ran off your lips
a fountain of poison
alike drunken men
spewing lies
harshly
like the vodka you sip
ivory eyes
vodka lies
dripping from your lips
onto mine
About this poem
this is a poem about a lover that treated me like i was just another drink. He had an issue with partying and the kind of coldness that i think of is a shade of ivory that was alwyas shown across is eyes. In his soul.
