Winter nights

It was just the other day after you were gone
I went out on a walk all alone
It's past 8 but you haven't texted me yet..
I waited for you as long as i could but i slept
These winter nights don't carry the warmth anymore
All i can hear is creaking sounds from my broken heart
I am waking up late at nights now
Whenever i pass by the streets
I see us standing at a distance
Bringing back a box of donuts
An old lady said we looked great together
But when i met her again today
She asked me where's your partner?
It was heartbreaking for me to say the real reason
So i just smiled and said that you are sick
She sent medicines for you
As soon as i entered i couldn't find you.
Cause I forgot we live in different worlds now
