When it storms outside

When the storm comes
I let my soul levitate
Leaving the rusty bars behind.
It gets more red
Than my blood can ever be,
Bold and fearless.

It's restless
Until the leaves make
 a green-frenzy
Over the grayish world.

I feel alive
I feel the life
The madness is great.
It's better than a sane lie.
It shatters the glasses
But won't let them hurt me.
So alive....
Death no more terrifies.

When the storm comes
My soul screams to depart.
I fear nothing
I can die with the happiest smile.

When the storm comes
Peace in madness I find
It proves sanity is a curse
Arrayed in a dress so white.

When it storms outside
I know I've been so dead all the way
It's now time to rise.
