My Reality

My Reality

Not all are granted outward beauty
Not all are granted outward wealth
Not all are granted higher education

I am not beautiful on the outside, but I have a beautiful soul. No one wants that.
I am not wealthy on the outside. No one wants that.
I’m not college educated, I learned everything I know from experience. No one wants that.
I have bad eyes...in fact I am blind. I get made fun of.

My aunt told me that no one wants damaged goods. I am damaged goods.
I was born with a birth defect that the doctor caused. Because of that, I was not wanted by my parents.
I was molested and raped by my aunt’s husband. Because of that, I was made to feel ashamed and unwanted.
I came out to the world at 21. No one cares because I’m not perfect, I’m not special.

The only person who I know would of accepted and loved me has been gone from this world for 33 years. I am alone here but when I die I won’t be.

About this poem

I was really down and decided to put my feelings into words.
