My Changing Friend

Saaqib Bashir 2007 (Kashmir)

Earlier annoyed over small things,
But I enjoyed their mood swings.
Huh! Was always on the peak of their lingua,
But they changed like the annual vinca.

Looking for a friend, a lot I have flown,
When found, I consoled myself, I have someone of my own.
But observing a change in my friend,
Now I am afraid of their intend.

Either upholding the friendship is difficult for me,
Or they no more value our emotional intimacy.
Unitentionally, I am giving them a berth,
But without them, I feel a dearth.
