Lost

I waited for ages buried in the sand like seed of germination
Reading the tiny sparkle given by the stars of constellation
My body become strained atoms excited with emotional vibration
I was wondering the corridors of life  in a chameleon motion
Living with a constant affliction of the sensibility of my emotion

I watched the grains of sand through an hourglass
I watched you from a nearby pass
I watched you smile and heard your contiguous laughs
I watched you walk up to me regal with class
But the truth could have saved many broken hearts

Eons would pass as we played dead in the land of our affections
Lies would pass as truth in the denial of our emotions
Lost to each other in the inadequate arms of others
Souls wondering the barren waste lands of convivial perdition
Silent in our perpetual hope of someday living the dream of our cordial bliss

Time afforded us the comfort of a happy something
As it is said, something had to give
Eyes burning with tears we finally heard the two sweetest words, "me too"
Delayed gratification guarantees greater satisfaction
But it does not guarantee long lived gratification

It seems only a few seconds ago the windows of your heart showed me rivers of affection
That today I see furious deserts of acrimony
Laboriously brought together through the tireless efforts of cute cupids
For a moment our love blossomed and shined brighter than the sun
Before fate waylaid us both

Conflicts of doing what is asked and doing what is the best
Suffering moments when the truth will cause more pain
Facing off with questions of selfish and selfless were the line between is thin
Before fate waylaid us both

I see you swallowed in thick crowds of complex beings
Your face a mirror image of the worry that surges in my veins
Will I ever find you again

Evans Dylan

Born and raised in the broken society now called Zimbabwe, to a single mom who gave everything and more for her son. I inherited my mother's love for literature and even though we never really share that love for it in her lifetime, devouring her book collection made me feel all the more closer to her after her death more…
