Hovering

1. Time
2. Writing

This piece of white waits,
Waits. There’s also, by its
Side, also hovering over it,
Hovering over, it's like skin hovering.
Over it, and, as it hovers it waits
With. Until what's there is dry, like
The leaves are dry. So they leave what
Holds them, leaving what holds on
Before them, in the wind. They, too, hover above
And below the branches and,           as they hover,
                                                               [spilling gold]
They wait, by the piece of white
                                                                     [no seeing
Done
through]
And that which, in the waiting, hovers over it,
Like fog, like a layer which leaves
Just stripped off hovering suspended.

See:
Wings of a butterfly which hovers
Mid-air and sometimes looks like
A pair of leaves suspending
Their fall through the fog,
Which lays hovering by
This piece of
White.
