Dear God

Sheila 1970 (Chicago)

Dear God, thank you for this brand-new day, there are words in my heart that I need to say, I thought about it for very long time. I have questions? I ponder in my mind. You said you would never leave nor forsake me, yet I feel alone.

I am not lonely for people, please don’t get me wrong. I am lonely due to the absence of your presence, is it my transgressions? That drove you away, not being in your presence extracts the essence of my existence, that’s why I’m writing you today.

Do you still listen to me? Are your ears attentive, to my orison? I will wait patiently, in forever, for your response. However, I am in the soup, in other words time is running out, I have nothing to lose. I will keep raising my hands in picturesque displays, hoping to attract you with my worship and my praise.

In case this letter does not arrive, I want you to know that I honestly tried. I humbly ask that you remember not my misdeeds but my benevolence that is my only evidence. When my time pass and I return to dust this message will be my symbol, of in God I trust.

This is the gist of what I wanted to say, I am not giving up, although my faith may sway. I will look for you as long as I breathe every single day! Just in case we do part, I will leave a copy of this letter in the billow of my heart, addressed to you, Dear God.

Forever Yours,

Sheila
