Wishing Away

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Who is it these days,
To have aged and wished...
Of having a crystal ball.
And the mind of a prophet.
To profit from things done to come.
With pockets filled to give cash to everyone?

Everyone who knew to accept the truth.

Knowing this to invest in,
Would benefit them with benefits too!

And no one then could accuse or blame,
A living in denial,
Had been the main reason...
Pretensions to delude and fiction,
Their debts to own and owe...
Came to addict them to falsely claim...
Others made them do it.

Because of impressions,
And appearances desired to make...
On the very people,
Who themselves...
Also live beyond their means.
And yet...
Those of ethnic diversity,
Have been told to tell and said to believe...
Are the reason and cause,
To have forced them faithfully to perceive...
Themselves,
As being better than others living in poverty!

Once nuts have been cracked,
Open.
For all to see,
Undeniably.
To reveal what they are to be?
Difficult it is to put them back.
Into shells to then pretend,
Them to be something else they are not!
