One

Andrew Brough 1978 (Salem, IN)

As I look into your eyes
I see you hurting in pain
Caused from heartbreaks and lies
But finding nothing to gain
I pull you in close to me
Holding you tight
Trying my best to make you feel safely
Trying to make everything alright

Never meaning to hurt you
Never meaning to make you cry
Loving you is all I can do
No matter how hard I try
I seem to make mistakes
For no reason at all
That seem to cause you heartbreaks
That makes you want to bawl

I hate myself for causing you this grief
I want to be your rock
Like the oceans quarrel reef
Standing beside you on the dock
Holding hands watching the sun set
Holding you close and never letting go
As the waves splash up getting us wet
Listening to the winds as it blow

Wanting to spend life with you
Through the tough and hard time
Asking forgiveness is all I can do
As we make this long rough climb
I love you with all my heart
Sorry for the things I done
Asking for us not to be apart
But to always be as one
