Sshhh!

Let's talk
But with our lips sealed.

Let's dialogue
And settle a pressing matter
But with our vocal cords at rest
And our tongues numb.

Let's orchestrate a plan to freedom
But without saying a word, not even a whisper
Because we don't want them to hear us

Sshhh!
Don't make a sound.
We don't want to draw attention to ourselves
Because we are afraid of them

We better keep quiet
So we won't be punished
By those who are more powerful,
So that we won't become a laughing stock
In front of the rest of the world

So sshhh!
Because we are inferior
And will not do what is right.
