Church Lotto

Church Lotto
Author: Mark V. Markov

Christian lotto is,
When everyone
In the church buys
A five dollar
Raffle ticket

When it comes
To the ticket price
Obviously
It could be
More or less

As the people buy
The raffle ticket
The accumulated money
Becomes
The grand prize

If someone wins
On the first try
Then they pay
Fifty percent
To the church fund

A church fund
Is established
To help others in need
To show the love of God to others,
In Jesus Christ's name.

With all expenses documented
And shown to all members
So they would know
Where the money was spent

The winner
With the winning raffle ticket
Keeps fifty percent
Of the grand prize money

If no one wins
On the first try
Then all money goes
Into the fund to help others.
To help all those,
Who are in need.

This lotto option
Includes
Throwing other numbers
Into the mix
Among the raffle ticket numbers
Purchased by the church members

To create the odds
So if no one wins
All money will go
Into the fund
To help others

The second option
Where only every church member
Throws their raffle ticket numbers
Into the mix
Without the other numbers
Thrown in
To make the odds

Will always result in a win
For one person
Every time
The church lotto,
The christian lotto is played

So only half of the prize money
Will always go
Into the fund
Into the fund of helping others in need

As the christian lotto,
The church lotto
Is restarted,
The next Sunday
And it goes on and on...

Acts 1:23-26 (ESV)

23 And they put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was also called Justus,
and Matthias.

24 And they prayed and said, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all,
show which one of these two you have chosen

25 to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside
to go to his own place."

26 And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias,
and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
