SEARCHING FOR INNER PEACE

Getting beaten down,
Always doing what you are told
Whether your a boy,
Or girl
Or even young
Or very old.
People taking advantage,
It seems even in how you feel
Always disconnecting,
From what is real.
Pushing the pain deep inside,
All your life feels
Just like a roller coaster ride.
Wanting to let go,
But always afraid
That you will lose all control.
Not wanting people to see,
Exactly what is inside.
Your scared as hell,
Just what they might find.
Running away,
All your life
You became a pro.
All the bad memories you have,
Having trouble letting them go.
Every time you try
To break the chain
Someone new steps in,
And always makes it rain.
No longer choking in,
All your tears
It is feeling nothing,
That you have always feared.
Wishing your life
Could have been different.
What ever happened,
To all of your goals.
Trying to think back
And wondering,
When did you sell your soul.
Your hoping in heaven,
You will see
What inner peace,
Really can be.
