Christmassy

The perfect gateway it was for my holiday,
Majestic mountains were all on the scenic byway.
I gathered all my emotions with cheer,
After-all it was the most magical time of the year.
The streets were all decked with glowing lights,
And the delicacies that night were plum cakes and pumpkin pies.
Decorated green pine trees, warm fireplaces and bells jingling,
And slowly the Lake City of Uttarakhand felt the soft dew drizzling.
A cool breeze and a sense of glee and zest,
My inner soul got the feeling of being blessed.
We went on a shopping spree as it felt was a norm,
And later exchanged gifts and cards with a great warmth.
Christmas joy with enthralling assortment of traditions,
Brought the family closer with immense emotions.
That's how I relished the most out of that holiday,
And do remember and cherish those moments till today.
