Woke up in Heaven

Hasan Johnson 1980 (Peoria Illinois)

Went to sleep in pain
Oh I tossed and turned
Would thought I was in hell
The air conditioner was on but I was burning
I had done all I could, to have a better life
Up to this point I don’t know how I even sleep at night
Paying tithes didn’t help
Praying didn’t either
Everything that bothered me bothered me weather I was awake or asleep
I yearned for a better life
I was jealous of others success
But one night I laid down to rest and could honestly care less
I didn’t have a nice house
I didn’t even own a car
I barely made any money but at least I had a job
Love didn’t love me
And sex cost way to much
Would of been interesting if anybody could have found me worthy of being loved
Finally I laid down and closed my eyes
When I opened them what a wonderful surprise
I woke up in heaven knowing I didn’t deserve
But grace and mercy kept my spot reserved
There was no more stress and I was happy now!
I saw the father with his son whose worthy to wear the crown
I cried and repented and worshipped him with glee
My spirit was filled with joy because I was where I was supposed to be
