What If I Fall Down at Your Feet

Josef Kruppenbacher 1982 (Minnesota)

I climb, and climb, and climb,
Only to reach so high,
And as the turmoil reaches my mind,
Inward I think I die.

Only to breath in but question life,
And I wonder if it is right,
Feeling so alone on the inside,
I smile...and I survive.

Now I'm pondering if I'm weak,
Questioning all that I believe,
Knowing one day I might be free,
What if I fall down at your feet?

So here goes one more day,
Why should I even pray?
If I did, what would I say,
'Cause I know nothing but delay.

So, now that it's so brief,
Fleeting moments of relief,
The reckoning works its way towards me,
I just wanna fall down at your feet.
