Whether Conscious Or Not

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Our emotions to have,
Personally to feel them felt.
Comes to be seldom done,
For anyone else to share.

Few among the many we view,
Will give up to stop...
To understand a thing of what it means,
Listening to pay attention...
To the ones who have experienced,
A sacrificing of themselves to others done.

This sacrificing to turn away,
From a selfishness and collected possessions.
To value and prioritize more,
Than proving to another...
That being a human being,
Is both priceless and has a worth...
None of us on this Earth could pay for.

And, yes...
The act of unconcern.
Shown and treated,
By one undeserving of it hurts.
Burns.
To feel and believe,
Their life to live...
Is worthless.
If others make it known to show,
Their minds are focused...
On pretensions made.
Intended to remain and stay as they are.
Whether conscious of this or not!

And...
These are the days and times we live,
Our lives as survivors accepting neglect.
Regardless who observes to witness this.
To deny, delude or live to fiction to accept.
As something else not there,
They would rather make believed!
