Warmth

Warmth is the singular thing that I know
I hear a soft voice saying “You are my own.
Every last breath that I have now to take
no mistake oh my love,
you’ve been sent from above.
He gave me you as a gift I shall cherish,
to protect and to guide till the day when I perish”.

And so a new life comes about upon Earth,
Her strength a testament proven by birth.
She is unique, with a job that is priceless
A portal providing us with a kaleido-
spcopical viewpoint of ordained creation
conception a portion of His great dictation.

She was once born and now she bears too
given a chance at a life to pursue.
A journey not earned but a gift freely given
by the One who created her in his great image.

Warmth is the singular thing that I know
And then that is all, my time’s at a close
I think for a moment I saw something bright,
a light, a chance to see life with my own
two eyes, put on clothes, and smell with my nose
I’ll never know what food to like the most

How could one born deprive me of chance,
do they remember feeling my circumstance?
They were me once, so say with what right
you steal my chance to live my own life.

I cannot speak but if I could I would say
“my life is mine, you can’t take that away!
You are alive and have been given the chance
to come forth from dark into safe open hands.
Protect me and see me, I’m one of you too,
love for all includes those still in the womb.”

No one if breathing can speak and end life
the very fact that you’re living means you can’t hold the knife.
So give up this passionate crying for vengeance,
realize now human lives are protected

The right to a life or to live without strife?
Is this the real reason we still have this fight?
Mistakes bring results that you justly will feel
you can’t delete something to make it less real.

There will be those of you who rejoice at the news
and forget to mourn softly with those who are bruised
“Love your neighbor and pray for them too
Love them when they persecute you”

You’ve sinned every day
so don’t dare to say
that you would’ve done it
some other way.
You think that your passion
puts smiles on his face?
To mock without grace those who cry out
in pain?
Forgive and give love or risk leading astray,
you drive away she whom He came to save.

Our role is to give life, to cherish it fully
the unborn as well as the ones who
are hurting.
The ones who seem senseless, beating their breast as they
spit in your face shouting “you’ll never get it,
you couldn’t summarize my worldview,
I’ll advise not to dogmatize with regard to
the delicate purview I’ve built over years
my affairs un-repaired by tears and tissue.
Your deeds don’t reflect this God that you serve,
don’t give me words, but works to observe
when did you care for the orphan and widow?
Show how to live the way Jesus has called you.

You push them away when you scoff in their face
would Jesus say “Murderer, you’re too far from grace”.
Be the one person who will listen and hear
the story of what even got them to here.
There may be a story there you didn’t know
be careful to give them the grace you’ve been shown.

So let us rejoice in the right to a life
being careful not to let the emotions inside
advise us against thinking first about others
We are called to love children as well as their mothers.
