Where was it born?

Princess Mokoena 2000 (Mpumalanga)

Where was it born?

Some say it was born in ancient Greece,
Some say it was born in those having voluminous minds,
Some say it was born in colossal words,
But I say it was born from the inner me

It runs all over my blood
It flows through my veins
It developed in my spirit
Yes, it lives in me

It is me the poet
Born in Africa
Africa of substantial races
Africa of true nature
Where rivers flow without asking any direction,
Where trees are blossoming and grass so green
Where your soul can be pacified by the voices of birds

Oh! I was born in an ebullient world
Filled with whooping children for joy
Filled with wailing youth for freedom
Everyone so vivacious and vitality

The poet was born from a vicious world
Where people chuckle behind her back
Trynna cessant the dream within
It strikes, like thunder penetrating through the roof
Certifying that it wasn't capitulated
It vindicate all over the world
Whispering the spirit of poetry

I am imbongi, umlobi
Born in Mpumalanga
The place of the rising sun!!
