The Visit

We took a stroll towards the golden sunset, to hear
the beautiful music from afar.

Ever and anon we paused, to think of the many people
who too, had a chance to walk amongst this premier.

Voices seem to come from angels, full throated with
songs of love everlasting.
Again we stopped to philosophize about the simplicities
of Life.
Forgetting not of what has passed as the vast tree-lined
skies grew closer to us.

The angelic music flowed from the clouds, encouraging
me to continue through this journey of Life.

I never thought in my life I would meet a person so gifted with the personality of love.

There was a brook near, so we took off our shoes to feel the cool water.
The brook itself had a history of this world. And soon too, we would become part of its history.

Shafts of yellow and orange lights fingered through the
forest walls, we knew then the sun would sleep for awhile.

As we came nearer to the sunset, there laid before us an emerald field with an array of many flowers.

We stood thinking and talking about Henry David Thoreau and many of his kind, who too, could encompass this sunset as we were doing.

At dusk, my companion assured me everything would be alright, and not to worry for it was time for home.

Softly, he parted the clouds, with a small shaft of light, took a step and went back home.

I have not ever been lonely again.
