Healing isn't pretty

I'm learning to love myself
It's all become so overwhelming
But every bit of progress
gets me further from this hell Where I've been dwelling.
I was broken down
the words still linger in my ears
The hardest thing I've had to do
Was face off with my fears
My mind is racing
Thoughts so unclear
I'm terrified of the person who has claimed
My reflection inside the mirror
Who is she
There's nothing I recognize
That's what I believe
Until I meet her eyes
The pain that is buried deep within
Just beyond her pale blue stare
A candle that's been burned out
The wall removed
Her scars on display
On a body thats been left bare
