Don't Be Like The Philistines

Don't Be Like The Philistines
Author: Mark V. Markov

Don't be blinded by success
And think that you are always right
Please remember
To double check
With the words of Jesus Christ

Be careful
Not to jump
To a wrong conclusion
And start mocking
Your brother or sister in Christ

Don't be like the philistines
Who gathered together
To mock the servant of God
Overwhelmed by their success
They all gathered together
To mock him
Please remember that Jesus Christ was mocked also
When He walked on this earth.

Now days some people gather together
In a church
And say
Look at us
We have success
And even though we were inspired by you
We still wanna deny you
We wanna put you down
Even though we were inspired by you
we won't appreciate you in any way.

So we can feel that high
Of putting a servant of God down
To mock and laugh
As if he or she is nothing

It's as if some people
Need that high
To live in life
That high flowing
From the arrogance in their hearts
The same arrogance
That created a rebellion in heaven
And caused the fall of mankind

That mentality doesn't come
From the teaching of Jesus Christ
Who taught His followers
To love others,
And to care about others.

So if there is a church out there
That gathers to mock and to put down others
And to say that they know everything
By twisting some of the verses from the disciples of Christ

Saying indirectly
That they won't listen to the words of Jesus Christ
In the Holy Scriptures
But trust only in themselves and their success.

It's like they are leading a rebellion against God
Against Jesus Christ Himself
With their own corrupted teaching
Which is classified in the word of God
As lawlessness and iniquity

The instruction in the word of God
Is considered like the law.
Meaning, if people live by it
They will have salvation.

Even though we have grace
We still need to live in obedience
We still need to live
In the teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ

Yet, if people teach contrary
And mock others who try,
To help people realize to trust,
The instruction of Jesus Christ.

When people lead others astray
Pushing people away
From the solid relationship
With our Lord and Savior
Those that teach that way
Could lose their salvation in eternity.

If you can't live
Without mocking your brother or sister in Christ
And feeling some kind of a high
It's a bad self check sign
That you are living in arrogance

That mentality doesn't come
From the teaching of Jesus Christ
Who taught His followers
To love others,
To care about others.

God always has the final say
If you have no first love
But only mockery.
Living your life
By rejecting the instruction of Jesus Christ
You could lose your salvation
In eternity

No wonder why, some like to say
We are under grace,
We are free from the commandments of Jesus Christ.
Indirectly saying
We don't have to love others
When Jesus Christ Himself said
If you love Him, you will keep the commandments.

That He knows us and we know Him
If we keep the commandments
The Ten Commandments and the Second Commandment of Jesus Christ
Are the definition of the First Commandment.
To love God with all of your heart,
With all your soul, and with all your mind
The second commandment of Jesus Christ
Is to love others as self.

So
Don't be blinded by success
And think that you are always right
Please remember
To double check
With the words of Jesus Christ

Be careful
Not to jump
To a wrong conclusion
And start mocking
Your brother or sister in Christ

Don't be like the philistines
Who gathered together
To mock the servant of God
Overwhelmed by their success
They all gathered together
To mock him
Please remember that Jesus Christ was mocked also
