Oh That Death.. He Comes For Us All

Mary Frances Vick 1990 (Memphis)

Oh that Death.. he comes for us all!
The great, the least, the big, and the small
Sometimes we know he’s coming
Or he arrives unexpectedly at our door
When he takes our loved ones
Our tears do pour
Death! I do not fear you!
But losing others makes me feel blue
Death! You will be defeated!
Some get eternal life and bliss.
So Death go ahead and give me a kiss!

About this poem

I wrote it today thinking of people I have lost and the inevitability of death.
