Jos

A city of peace draped
with hospitality
A city divine armored in peace
A city of tribes
aspirations and bliss

Oh Jos! How the mighty has fallen
The burnt my favorite market
delightful but perished
They killed my friends
and chained you with fear and panic

Mother market conquer
These evil, restore prominence,
Treat us, to wow! Shopping
Conquer religion and deception
with peace
Extinguish flames of bigotry
with love and unity

Oh Jos! How the mighty has fallen

About this poem

Jos, Plateau State is my birth town, grew up, had my education and lived there for more than a decade. This city is the ideal place to settle; it has fantastic weather, scenery and good food. Presently the main market is burnt, people live in fear, terror as a result of terrorist attacks. This poem expresses by nostalgia about Jos.
