For so Long

Adjekawen A. Jeremiah 1998 (Delta State, Nigeria)

Empty your soul in me with a kiss
I’ve been waiting for so long
As if for a shipment through the Atlantic
Melt into the arms you belong

Your smooth skin,
Chocolate indeed
Ah…, quite long have I felt thee
Merge your body with mine
Warm, freeze the world and time!

Let me grip you tighter and tighter
As the tide rises higher and higher
Until you sense how crazy I’ve missed you
Until you feel how much I’ve wanted you

Your curves make your statue a perfection
Fine Galatea, handiwork of Pygmalion!
The twin angels on guard on thy chest
Round, soft, swaying and wet!
The waist beads around your waist,
O, blows my sanity away!

Your body, a piece of artefact
Worthy of a space in a museum
Great piece of art and craft
It speaks of African beauty in millenniums

You are a miracle
And your body a spectacle
While you ring your arms on me
Let me drink delicious poison from your lips

You know I belong with you
Only you and only you
I know you belong with me
Only me and only me.
