City Heat

City heat throw me a breeze,
need some chill to stop this old wheeze!

Taxis pass by in the heat of midday,
smell of Kebabs and hi five all the way,
underground rumble from trains down below,
crowds hurry on like they've somewhere to go.

Commuters, computers, and old boys with cramps,
street scene drawings and street craze dance,
whizz 'em all round and dance your life away,
through to the evening this street dance play.

City heat throw me a breeze,
need some chill to stop this old wheeze!

Bars for stars and bars for Whisky Mac,
bottle neck beers and smokes all in a stack,
street side burgers and vans with ice cream,
shoe shine steady and rollin' like a dream.

Denim clad flirting all around the mall,
sunshine brings 'em looking for a pal,
and in centre square pigeons swoop the crowd,
landing in the fountain and cooing rather loud.

City heat throw me a breeze,
need some chill to stop this old wheeze!

Double decker buses and sectioned cycle lanes,
rattle of the coin falls and gurgle of the drains,
city beat soul never turn your face,
from those who truly follow and never lose the pace.

The glow of the city an aura seen from high,
seen from a distance all gold beneath the sky,
buzzing, and roaring, the frenetic city ways,
city whizz, and styling, frantic city days.

City heat throw me a breeze,
need some chill to stop this old wheeze!
