It Could Be Contrary

It Could Be Contrary
Author: Mark V. Markov

Just because some are successful in life
And believe in God
Doesn't mean
That their teaching is correct

Many before were successful and never even believed in God
So to justify yourself
To think and say
That your christian teaching is correct
Just because you are successful in life
Is a wrong mentality

To the word of God
It could be contrary
To the word of God
It could be contrary

The only way to know
If your christian teaching is correct
Is to do a self check
With the words of Jesus Christ

If He instructed the church of Ephesus to return to the first love
Because they struggled in that area
And if He instructed to the majority of the church of Sardis
To perfect their works
Because they struggled in that area

For He said to the church of Sardis
If they don't perfect their works
Their names will be blotted out
From the book of life

If people don't trust Jesus Christ
But put trust in their own selves
In their own christian doctrine.
When the time comes
For them to go into eternity
They wil not be able to save themselves

But if they put their trust in the Lord
As the Biblical verses say
Some put their trust in armies
Some put their trust in men
But we put our trust in the Lord

When Jesus Christ said
You think you are alive
But you are dead
Could mean to some
You think you are under grace
And you don't need to do anything else in life
That you don't have to be involved
For the kingdom of God
In any way

Some Christians look at their success
And try to justify this mentality
With their success
Thinking of themselves
That they must be right
And everyone else out there must be wrong

To the word of God
It could be contrary
To the word of God
It could be contrary

The only way to know if your christian teaching is right
Is to make sure it aligns
With the words of Jesus Christ
That the christian teaching aligns
With His instruction

He is Lord of lords
He is in charge of the kingdom of God
Through Him we are redeemed
Through Him we are reconciled
To God the Father

We need to trust our Lord Jesus Christ
What He instructed for us
In the word of God
Everything He asked us to do
We must do,
We must submit to Him as our Lord.

When Jesus Christ said
You think you are alive
But you are dead
Could mean to some
You think you are under grace
And you don't need to do anything else in life
That you don't have to be involved
For the kingdom of God
In any way

But you are wrong.
You need to have the living faith
since living faith consists
Of believing and works together
As stated in the book of James chapter two

The opposite of the living faith
Is a dead faith
And dead faith
As stated in the book of James chapter two,
The dead faith is useless.
Useless before whom, you might wonder?
It is useless before God.

For the living faith pleases God
As Jesus Christ said
With your good works
You glorify God the Father.

As Jesus Christ said
In Matthew chapter twenty five
You welcomed strangers
You fed others
You clothed others
You gave them to drink
You visited others when they were sick
You visited them when they were in prison
Come into my kingdom
My good and faithful servants

But to those who absolutely did nothing
He said they have no salvation.
Those verses in Matthew chapter twenty five
Confirm to us
What Jesus Christ expects
From His followers

It confirms a necessity of works
As stated in the book of James chapter two
Aligning with what Jesus Christ had said
To the church of Sardis
Because they struggled in that area

Notice that they only struggled with first love in the church of Ephesus
But the church of Sardis struggled in the area of works
That instruction in the book of Revelation
was left for all churches
To always do a self check
And to make sure they don't have those same issues
That would prevent them from having salvation

We need to trust our Lord Jesus Christ
And no one else
No other teacher
no other bishop
No other pastor
No other preacher
That teaches contrary

That teaches contrary
To what Jesus Christ instructed for all believers
That teaches contrary to what Jesus Christ had said
In the Holy Scriptures
To all His followers

Because if you trust in your success and riches
As a justification of your contrary christian faith
The success and riches will not save you
When the time will come
for you to go into eternity...

Revelation 2:1-7 (ESV)

1 “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:
‘The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands.

2 “‘I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil,
but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false.

3 I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name's sake, and you have not grown weary.

4 But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.

5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first.
If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.

6 Yet this you have: you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.’

Revelation 2:3-6 (ESV)

3 “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars.

“‘I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead.

2 Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God.

3 Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent.
If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you.

4 Yet you have still a few names in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments,
and they will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.

5 The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life.
I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.

6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’

Matthew 25:31-46 (ESV)

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.
32 Before him will be gathered all the nations,
and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.
34 Then the King will say to those on his right,
‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’
37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you,
or thirsty and give you drink?
38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,
43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’
44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison,
and did not minister to you?’
45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these,
you did not do it to me.’
46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Matthew 7:21-23 (ESV)

I Never Knew You

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven,
but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name,
and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’

23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

James 2:14-20 (ESV)

14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food,

16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,”
without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?

17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works,
and I will show you my faith by my works.

19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!

20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?

Psalm 20 (ESV)

Trust in the Name of the Lord Our God
To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

20 May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!
2
May he send you help from the sanctuary
and give you support from Zion!
3
May he remember all your offerings
and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices! Selah

4
May he grant you your heart's desire
    and fulfill all your plans!
5
May we shout for joy over your salvation,
and in the name of our God set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions!

6
Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with the saving might of his right hand.
7
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
8
They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand upright.

9
O Lord, save the king!
May he answer us when we call.

Revelation 2:7 (ESV)

7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.’
