I thought Montreal was cold but I just didn't know you well enough,
I thought I had found gold and convinced myself that you were enough,
For a minute  I was so bold but I wish I knew you'd make my life so tough,
I thought together we'd grow old but then you made a choice to just be rough,
I wish my heart I had sold instead of giving it to you to just ditch it in a trough,
I don’t know if you were told but I found love and she treats me well enough,
It's sad that as you grow old no one can ever love you and still be good enough.
