And...When Correct Pieces Fit

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

When a puzzling picture,
Viewed and distorted...
With a glossing to interpret,
What appears yet does not exist.
Many observing refuse to admit,
To accept what is claimed to be...
A picture they should believe,
Has nothing wrong with it.

Then,
Brave are the ones...
Who came forward to admit,
They kept evidence and prove...
Of keeping the correct pieces,
Secretly hidden.
In fear of threats...
The punishment would be severe.
And they would face ongoing regret.

Although they were made to feel afraid,
To say or reveal anything at all.
They together presented the correct pieces.
Making the picture,
Clearer than ever.
No one could deny what it was they saw.

And yet those still disbelieving,
Done made too crazed...
By fiction to delude truth as it is.
Could not accept,
The proof and evidence...
Right before their eyes.
Making them defensive.
Protesting against it.

Blaming the ones,
Who made clearer the picture...
Of lieing to deceive,
A picture they would rather leave...
Distorted.
Senseless.
Regardless of how it represents to present,
The quality and truth...
Of their messed of lives to live.
Together they had normalized!
No matter the reality of it.
Or a picture they refuse to believe,
Had been intended to make them...
Fools and followers of deception to support!
