For The Good

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

From the bad.
And the worst of it experienced.
There is still room to make,
For the good done to do and come.
Feeling improvement.
That this effort endeavored gets better.

Yet...
The best to wish,
In attempts to perfect it?
Could and may cause regret.
Leaving some unsatisfied.
By trying to identify for themselves,
Their interpretation of what perfection is.

And...
May misunderstand to make understood,
For the good?
It is best...
To leave well enough alone.

Done to understand,
Attempts made to achieve perfection...
With efforts endeavored to reach?
Can and could cause,
Defects to go accepted.
In their own condoned mentalities.

Condoning the bad, the ugly.
And the worst of their actions.
To ultimately create,
No one feeling pleased.
Or leave anyone left to appreciate,
A good for them destroyed.
To make worse than ever it was!

'Why...
Could we not leave alone,
What for all of us was good?'

'Too many decided,
That wasn't good enough.'

'Not good enough?
Not good enough for who?'

'For them to make that decision!'

'Why is it always about Them?
Again!'
