Carousel

Kings and princes ride the carousel, ‘till the bell rings.
Knights and gentry ride the carousel, ‘till the bell rings.
Ring Ring Ring… The bell does ring.
Kings, knights, and serfs take turns upon the joust.

Famine, upon plenty, upon famine.
Always the promise lingers in the air.
Ring Ring Ring… The bell does ring.
And the ride starts again with the victor on the saddle.

The child looks and learns the wiles of his elders.
Life is a carousel, but a levy must be paid.
Ring Ring Ring… The bell does ring.
Famine, upon plenty, upon famine.
