Wings of frost
Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)
The babe lay uncovered in its pure white coffin bedsheet
Its alabascer skin pale lit by the moon
People gathered outside in shock
Looking for her
But she would not be found
Until a spectre lay her eye upon a sleeping man of sight
And saw an angel soul child softly; sweetly beckoning
Till found with frosted wings the sheet torn and poised to face
Like a flying cherub heading back to grace.
