Walked Away
This old world told me
on one mean and angry day
I ain't obligated to you
don't be following me
cause there ain't no room for you to stay
so I walked away and I never did look back
I walked away
yes, I walked away
I walked away
yes, I walked away
and I never did look back
The world had alreday claimed so many people
that I knew
they just didn't like the Christians things
I would say or even try to do
and this would let me know
that if that is where they wanted to be
then that is where they needed to stay
I won't be asking to join in with them
not even for one moment
so I walked away and I never did look back
I walked away
yes, I walked away
I walked away
yes, I walked away
and I never did look back
I didn't know for sure where I was headed
or if my life would soon come to an end
or if I would reach my destination
before the darkness that comes after sunset
so I kept on walking and even made extra steps
and I didn't realize it but the
clouds had uncovered the moon
and the stars guided my path
on a journey that has brought me abundances of blessings
every since
so I walked away and I never did look back
I walked away
yes, I walked away
I walked away
yes, I walked away
and I never did look back
Sometimes it hurts when you can't be a part of the pack
and the conflicts of emotions causes a separation to
rip apart the hearts that you thought you knew best
and there is no mending known unto man
that will ever repair the hole
that was left empty and void within
and left you without any chance to rise up and be strong
so I walked away and I never did look back
I walked away
yes, I walked away
I walked away
yes, I walked away
I walked away
yes, I walked away
I walked away
yes, I walked away
I walked away
yes, I walked away
I walked away
yes, I walked away
and I never did look back
