Take My Hand

Take My Hand
Mommy, I can’t make it alone, please help me along the way,
My dear child I will always be with you or never far away.
My little legs can’t go too fast; to me you are so grand,
I’ll wait for you along the way, my child, take my hand.

Mom can you help me, I have much homework to do,
My daughter I will help, you must learn to do it too.
These numbers are so very hard for me to understand,
I will show you how to work them, remember, take my hand.

Mother, he asked me to marry, we already chose a date,
I am so happy for you my child, your father and I can’t wait.
Come, help me find a dress and the flowers for the stand,
I will go along with you daughter, as always, take my hand.

We are going to have a girl, I hope she looks like you mom,
If she is healthy and you are happy, then your house will be calm.
I may need your help to care for her, but only if you can,
I will help you when you need it, little fingers take my hand.

The tears for you my mother, down my face so freely fall,
I’m not long for earth my daughter, I hear my Father’s call.
I cherish the days we had together and your life on this land,
I see my mother in heaven, she is calling, Take my Hand.
