Night Sky

Baseerat Mushtaq 2002 (Jhnag, Saddar, Punjab)

That night the sky was clear,
But no one to see the shiny pearls,
Which were filled with dread and hollowness.
Those nights had their charms,
But now I only hear my own sobs.
Past filled with tearing memories,
Future with worries,
And the present is worse than hell.
Who thought the person I cherished,
Would walk away so silently,
Without a sound or a creak,
Leaving me with a life,
Drenched with pearls and sobs.
