Daddy

This is a story about a girl who loved her daddy Even though he nodded off when she tried to tell him about school See this girl thought This was normal Every home must be like this there's no way she is all alone in this The only things her daddy would say is go fetch me a beer and go away But that didn't stop the little girl from trying and trying To be #1 in her daddy's world So when she seen him struggling to get things done here she comes running saying daddy let me help you out some But he would just sit in his old blue chair with a beer and his hand .... I got this girl he said ... A couple of years past and this little girl turn into a little lady Nothing's really changed besides her age Her daddy still passes out and that same blue chair He never slept in a bed she always remembers just him right there Eventually this little girl's mommy got tired of  it Tired of the liquor filled nights Tired of the hate filled fights Tired of this same small town tired of the same old life So she met someone new an she packed up her kids Move to a bigger city where dreams could live And left The little girl's daddy right where he has always been in that old blue chair Years later this little girl is a woman now she's 18 ......but her daddy  is still waiting for his ex wife  to love him again He never learn to cut the habit He couldn't put it down and it didn't help his family left him while he was down So he drank an he drank Intell the pain wasn't there And then he would just pass out and that old blue chair Until 1 day he couldn't drink no more Her sister an her was was together when they got the The  call.... You have to hurry now That's what they said cause He's in the ICU And...... Click went the phone  we Didn't it bother to call back We just got on the road Got to the hospital almost to the room Stoped right before the door an just cried Until her older sister just pulled her inside She looked at her daddy and said dont worry  I'm here now but he looked right through her Like he didn't know her and at that moment she broke inside Shortly after that  Hospice lady came She said I'm sorry to tell you this but your daddy is dying from the liquor in his veins she explains he won't be here next year here next year Then looks at us for a response The girl in her sister just look to there mother waiting for her to say Don't worry we will take care of him an then she did So we packed them up and took him home Things was different now There was no beer around this was the 1st time she seen her mother an her daddy Laugh together She always thought her mother hated him Because alcohol control him Maybe her mother was just doing it for the them or maybe she really did love him in the end To be honest the girl didn't care Because in that last year those was the best memory she had with them 1 day Before his mind started to fade He pulled his daughter to the side and He said I'm sorry I never gave you a good life I'm sorry I wasn't a good husband to my wife He said my daddy drank his daddy drink so i guess he just followed the leader and never stop the think I'm sorry you have to see me like this as such as a young age But I'm so glad to be with you an my family on my last days The girl just looked at him an said You wasn't perfect but I didn't care Yeah you had a drinking problem but you was always there yea our life was tough Things was tough But I will never stop loving you you are my daddy and I wouldn't change you The little girl I've been talking about is really me an my daddy really had a drinking problem and it took him away from me And you know what all he could leave me is his old blue chair So before you say I got this under control I'm in control Just do yourself a favor just put down the drink and go home
