Beyond The Glass

I pick up the glasses
They are not my own
And I saw a world that I’ve never known
Everything was blurred
I could barely see a thing
The world I once saw
Was much simpler.
So many colors
Details and shapes
Were out of my reach, for what seemed like forever
So I sat
And watched
And felt
And observed
The world I now see
Like the blind mice described in fairy tales
And missed the way my eyes used to be
