America’s heart

America’s heart is resiliency
Drumming the beat of freedom imperfect
Yet from its seed an ever growing tree
With many limbs and roots to preserve it

Against the many storms that curse its ways
fire and brimstone in hand and on the tongue
from condemnation will rise better days
We’ll respond in time climbing rung by rung

Flag like a phoenix and populace too
I know it seems we’re becoming unglued
We need to be civil as we argue
It’s always worse when it’s a blood feud

Let us be brothers where differences proud
Where all Americans so we’ll be loud
