"Proud to be you"

Doesn't matter straight or gay,
No one has the right to say,
The way that you prefer to be,
Worry about you, not of me.

This world would be a better place,
If hypocrites could finally face,
The issues they judge others for,
May be behind their closet door.

There is no shame in who you are,
Your hearts pure love will take you far,
So, rise above the whisperings,
Keep moving towards much better things.

They know not what's inside of you,
Nor what it is in life you do,
It may turn out through tragedy,
Who saved their life, it's you they'll see?

About this poem

This is to encourage others not to judge those who choose to live life differently as they do. And though I'm not gay, I have friends that are, and they are the sincerest souls you will ever find in a true friend. Do not condemn what you do not understand, you may find it was a gay person who came to your aid.

Being yourself should be enough, no it is enough!
Although it doesn’t matter what people think of you, it’s always nice to hear that someone is proud of you.
    Beautiful poem.
