In the ghetto of the mind

In the ghetto of the mind

Through the smell of lonely streets
sight from our eyes of silent thoughts
take away our fears

The tarnished cities beyond the shinning hills
cities swank against emerald coves
where island darkness meets
that of which stabs at the needs of
invisible externalities of empty lots
where the music plays no more
in Chrystal edge of shadows
we walk alone

The frozen silence of decaying order
through the nakedness of mans soul
in oxen’s of the burning suns
where winds encircle and speak within
motions of the mind

Rise in light of day to the
rhapsodies of fire and rain
in their silence stand the rites of spring
in the beginning of its  end
where hunger breaths through tired hands
the dignity of man

Beneath the bleeding hands
that weaves the debts that steal
the silent answers crept across
with logic brutal and unkind

Embrace with emptiness and despair
to the empty space with light of thought
spins the fire of the night
explodes upon itself in the cold
awareness of nothing

Like the yesterday that was not there
native in the bareness of concrete jungles
prisons within prisons
poverty isolated without the needs of walls
freedom distilled downsized to a selected few
in the shadows of the silence a spark kindles
still alive ideas born of the people to a
Constitution reborn
