To give a lie to reason

To give a lie to reason
that we
not it could be a constant

Roused from the sleepless rest
of uncertainty and mysterious doubt

Stenciled shadows on lighted walls
possibilities between us
and the nature of our lives
assimilate a love that binds
the look that silence knows
the sound that moves the soul
the raising tones of rising hands
between the here and now

Anecdotes from the moment
where nothing is spoken or written down

Voices clear and alive
not polished or lacquered down
the natural notes between the lines
from the other side of pastures
