Earth is the church

Earth is the drum that sings its song
Through the song of living life
A celebration of presence
In unison of vibrating
harmony to life’s creation

its melodies form
deep within the cosmic core
its forces tune its cosmic strings
on  lucid waves it sings

all life dances its dance
in its field of dreams
on the edge of night and day
bearing witness to its wonder’s

becoming conscious of its presence
yet indifferent to gifts its giving
through our living selves

song of the universe that’s never done
takes part in an orchestra
where all is one
awake in its joyous presence
in the veins of living things
through the space and air
in the gift of life from which it is
within the muted silence  that reaches up
as from roots to tree to leaf

between the paths in which we tred
without beginning within its end
as running rivers that ever runs
that cant be traced or plotted down
to learn to wounder as do the stars
behind a mythic sleeping sea
of dreaming dreams
speaks the language of ancient creeds
