The magicians flute

The magicians flute
the stage is set
high up above Homeric gods
sit amongst the clouds
like Blake’s image
of a greybeard elder
holding a compass open
and looking down On mortals below

Now are you sitting comfortably
the ceremony of symphonic joy begins
let Merlin and his magic take you in
the story of   trials tribulations quests
and the lessons of fear and doubt
of love and magic spells

A handsome prince with Magic flute
that sings a music that wills the owners wills
of Guinevere the lovely Queen of the night
ancient myths of Jedi knights
dragon’s  swords and fire
like Frodo and his magic ring

He has a philosopher’s stone that rules them
in an opera over four hundred years old
a feast of arias fairy tales and alchemy
of fools and kings and maidens
of sacred chords

Through sacred rites
of Magic spring that comes alive
with music to our ears
and illuminates the mind
in the tempest of the dawn

Through his rites of passage
he meets the lady of the lake
and traveler’s on the road
mans inherent search for the mythic real

Like the grail and Excalibur’s
the test of life we wonder
like blood upon the rose
where science and alchemy unite
dreamers of dreams
leave there footprints
on the sands of time
