The Heart Is Beating

The Heart Is Beating
Author: Mark V. Markov

Two or three hours ago
The baby was breathing
Though the umbilical cord
Inside of the womb
And now it is out
The child is breathing through its lungs

It's the same baby
The same size
Same size that it was
Two or three hours ago
After the mother gave birth to the baby
Except now it is
Outside of the womb

The woman cannot ask to kill
The baby
The woman cannot ask to kill
The child

And call that
With a contemporary polished word
Another word for killing of a human being
The word called abortion

The woman cannot kill
The baby
The woman cannot kill
The child
Just because she is its mother
And it is in her womb

Just like the woman cannot kill her baby
After she gave birth to it.
For the heart is beating outside
The same way
As it was beating inside
Cause the heart,
The heart is beating
And the child,
The child is breathing

The baby, the child
Is living and breathing
It is a living human being
With a destiny from God

Through the umbilical cord
Inside the womb
It was breathing
And now it is breathing
Through its lungs
On the outside
After the mother gave birth

Either way
It was still breathing
Inside the womb
And now it is breathing
With its lungs
Outside of the womb

The same size
The same shape
As it was two or three hours ago
When it was
Inside of her womb

The woman cannot kill the baby
The woman cannot kill the child
Just because it is inside of her womb
Cause the heart,
The heart is beating
And the child,
The child is breathing.

In this case
Adoption is the only option
To give birth
And then to give the baby away
So someone else
Who always wanted to have a child
Of their own
Can have a baby

Straight from the birth of its mother
The mother who let it live
The mother who let it be adopted
For the child to grow up,
To be able to choose,
To believe.

For after conception
The woman becomes responsible
For her baby
When it is in her womb
The same way
As she becomes responsible
For her baby
When she gives birth to it...

This is a very timely poem about our situation today.
It should be posted in every hospital to let mothers know how precious babies are !
We had 2 children plus another by adoption, that was 55 years ago when adoption was a normal choice to make, never abortion !
In some hospitals it was against the law !!
